1. Aggressive Brushing

Aggressive brushing can wear down the gum tissue and cause it to recede over time. To prevent gum recession, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and apply gentle pressure while brushing. 2. Poor Dental Hygiene

4. Grinding and Clenching Teeth

Bruxism is a condition characterized by excessive teeth grinding or clenching, usually occurring involuntarily during sleep. This can lead to gum recession. The constant force applied to the gum tissue can cause it to recede over time.

5. Poor Nutrition

If essential nutrients are missing from your diet, such as vitamin C, your gums can weaken and become more susceptible to recession. Incorporate a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and dairy products into your diet to ensure you are getting the nutrients necessary for strong and healthy gums.
