Christos Gousias, DDS, MS
Dr. Christos Gousias is a board certified periodontist serving the community in Fredericksburg, VA. Originally from Athens, Greece, he has a passion for improving oral health and brings a wealth of experience to his patients.
Born and raised in Athens as part of a family of dentists, Dr. Gousias earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During his studies, he was an active member of the student committee for several terms. He practiced as a general dentist in Greece for a few years, where he also fulfilled his mandatory military service in the Greek Navy, practicing dentistry at Athens Naval Hospital and serving as a member of the dental emergency response team.
In his pursuit of expanding his knowledge and achieving clinical expertise, Dr. Gousias came to the U.S. and attended Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee. It was there that Dr. Gousias completed a 3-year Advanced Education in Periodontics program and served as the Chief Resident.
In addition to his educational degrees, Dr. Gousias has contributed to three dental publications and 18 oral presentations in national and international conferences, three of which have received awards. Dr. Gousias remains committed to ongoing education, ensuring his patients receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care.
Dr. Gousias chose a career in periodontics because of its unique approach to managing complex cases, with a strong foundation in biology and focus on predictability and longevity of treatment. He enjoys performing surgery, guided by the principles of healing and tissue management. Dr. Gousias finds immense satisfaction in seeing his patients genuinely happy with their improved oral health, as he believes it is incredibly rewarding to witness the positive impact on their well-being and confidence.

In his free time, Dr. Gousias enjoys outdoor activities such as tennis and skiing. He also finds joy in cooking and reading. As he is still getting to know the Fredericksburg area, Dr. Gousias appreciates the city’s rich history, its natural beauty and strong sense of community.
