Originally from Athens, Greece, Dr. Gousias grew up in a family of dentists, which ignited his passion for the field from an early age. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he actively participated in the student committee, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to the profession.
Following his dental education in Greece, Dr. Gousias practiced as a general dentist while fulfilling his mandatory military service in the Greek Navy. His service included working at the Athens Naval Hospital and being part of the dental emergency response team, experiences that enriched his clinical skills and reinforced his commitment to patient care.
Advanced Training and Scholarly Contributions
Dr. Christos Gousias’ quest for advanced knowledge led him to the United States, where he attended Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee. There, he completed a rigorous 3-year Advanced Education in Periodontics program, serving as the Chief Resident and honing his skills in complex periodontal procedures.
In addition to his formal education, Dr. Gousias has made significant contributions to the field through research and scholarly activities. He has authored three dental publications and delivered 18 oral presentations at national and international conferences, with three of these presentations receiving awards. His commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements ensures that his patients benefit from the most current, evidence-based treatments.

Dr. Christos Gousias’ decision to periodontics stems from his interest in managing complex cases with a foundation in biology.
